RAMADAN MASSACRE / MASACRE EN RAMADAN

These days in Twitter you can find #RamadanMassacre as a trending topic. We can see a lot of people trying to make it top trend. Well, I don't see how making it the most sent word can help people under the fire. Maybe we should try to push hard UN, European Union, United States and so on to increase pressure on the regime, making effective sanctions like embargo on arms for Syria, that would be a great point.

People in Syria are under the fire. What does it mean? It means that tanks are shelling cities, not only Hama, yet Hamawi are facing the heaviest fire. It means that you are not safe in your home, even if you are not a demonstrator ammunition cannot recognize the difference, you are going to be blasted the same.

Syrian regime still is saying they are "protecting the citizens" and "chasing armed gangs that are disturbing the country". Also, they maintain that are entering into the cities with tanks "as innocent syrian citizens are asking them for protection against these armed gangs". Even if this last thing was true, that is not, there remains the little problem that is like hunting mosquitoes with cannonshots... Suppose any other country in the world affront their terrorism problems shelling whole cities... Ooooh my God! The whole world would rise million voices against it.

I don't hear million voices again Syrian regime... only the voices of those who are not holding the real power.

Till when UN's silence? Out there, people are dying, waiting for international support... They need something more than being a trending topic in Twitter...


Estos días en Twitter puedes encontrar #RamadanMassacre como tema de moda. Podemos ver un montón de gente intentando que sea el tema más difundido. Bueno, no puedo entender cómo conseguir que sea la palabra más enviada puede  ayudar a la gente que está bajo el fuego. Quizá deberíamos intentar presionar a la ONU, la Comunidad Europea y Estados Unidos para que aprieten las clavijas al régimen, implantando sanciones efectivas, como el embargo de armas a Siria, eso sería un gran logro.

Las personas en Siria están bajo el fuego. ¿Qué significa? Significa que los tanques están bombardeando ciudades, no sólo Hama, aunque los hamuis son los que estan afrontando el fuego más intenso. Significa que no estás a salvo en tu casa, que aunque no seas un manifestante las municiones no reconocen la diferencia, te van a volar en pedazos lo mismo.

El régimen sirio continua diciendo que están "protegiendo a los ciudadanos" y "persiguiendo a las bandas armadas que están asolando el país". Igualmente mantienen que están entrando en las ciudades con tanques "a petición de los ciudadanos sirios inocentes que buscan protección contra esas bandas armadas". Incluso si esto último fuera cierto, que no lo es, queda el pequeño problema de que sería como cazar mosquitos a cañonazos. Supongamos que cualquier otro país del mundo afronta sus problemas de terrorismo bombardeando ciudades enteras... ¡Oooh, Dios mío! El mundo entero elevaría un millón de voces contra ello.

Pero yo no oigo un millón de voces contra el régimen sirio... sólo las voces de aquellos que no tienen el poder real.

¿Hasta cuando el silencio de la ONU? Ahí fuera la gente está muriendo, esperando el apoyo internacional... Ellos necesitan algo más que ser el tema de moda en Twitter.

The regime begins the holy month with massacres fearing that it may fall at its end

Protesters had promised Syrian authorities to intensify protests in Ramadan and make it the regime’s last month. Today Syrian authorities responded to this promise with the only answer they have known since the beginning of the revolution, but in a more intense way. The regime actions today reflect a desperate will of suppressing the peaceful movement, or reflects a great fear and a internal confusion, especially after the latest splits within the army, which now are more than isolated individual cases.
Today, the regime randomly killed more than seventy Syrian citizens in the streets and inside, by using all kinds of light and heavy weapons, and after removing all barriers used by the population to protect itself from military armored vehicles and from the oppression of security forces. Hama was waiting for military troops deployed at its boundaries to sweep into the city for approximately three weeks. Hama had already sacrificed more than seventy martyrs in one Friday, when the army swept into the city for the first time two months ago.
In Deir Ezzor, which was first hit two days ago, several soldiers have defected and the number of defecting soldiers are increasing with the escalation of the regime's forces' violence, Also Al Harak, close to Daraa, witnessed an invasion since the beginning of the uprising 4 months ago, while Mouadamyeh, a Damascus suburb, was first invaded two months and a half ago, troops now are being moved between the many cities of Damascus Suburbs to defuse the demonstrations in the largest areas and the closest to the capital Damascus.
Even the cities whose people went out demonstrating in solidarity with their fellow citizens who are being randomly killed, were not saved from the regime's wrath.

What is going one now in Syria is a regime clinging to its power in madness, and not a planned course of action. This is evident by the random killings targeting children, infants and arrests of whole families.



El régimen comienza el mes sagrado con masacres, temiendo su caída al final del mes. Los manifestantes habían prometido a las autoridades sirias intensificar las protestas en Ramadán y hacer que éste fuera el último mes del régimen. Hoy las autoridades sirias respondieron a esta promesa con la única contestación que han conocido desde el inicio de la revolución, pero de una manera mucho más intensa. Las acciones de hoy del régimen reflejan una voluntad desesperada de suprimir el movimiento pacífico, o refleja un gran miedo y confusión interna, especialmente después de las últimas deserciones dentro del ejército, que ahora son algo más que casos individuales aislados. Hoy, el régimen asesinó indiscriminadamente a más de setenta ciudadanos sirios en las calles y en sus casas, usando todo tipo de armas, ligeras y pesadas, y después de retirar todas las barreras que los ciudadanos habían colocado para defenderse de los vehículos militares armados y de la opresión de las fuerzas de seguridad. Hama estaba esperando, desde hace aproximadamente tres semanas, que las tropas militares desplegadas en los alrededores arrasaran la ciudad. Hama ya había sacrificado más de setenta mártires en un solo viernes, cuando el ejército irrumpió por primera vez en la ciudad hace dos meses.

En Deir Ezzor, donde ocurrió el primer golpe hace dos días, varios soldados han desertado, y el número de deserciones se incrementa con la escalada de violencia de las fuerzas del régimen. También Al Harak, cerca de Daraa, fue testigo de una invasión desde el principio de las revueltas hace 4 meses, mientras que Mouadhamyeh, un suburbio de Damasco, fue invadido por primera vez hace dos meses y medio. Las tropas se están moviendo entre las diversas ciudades de los suburbios de Damasco para desactivar las protestas en las áreas más numerosas y más cercanas a la capital Damasco.

Incluso en las ciudades cuya gente salió a manifestarse en solidaridad con sus paisanos que están siendo asesinados indiscriminadamente, no están a salvo de la ira del régimen.

Lo que está ocurriendo ahora en Siria es un régimen aferrándose al poder con locura, y no con un curso de acción planeado. Esto es evidente por los asesinatos indiscriminados con objetivos de niños y bebés, y arrestos de familias enteras

LET WOMEN DEMONSTRATE / QUE LAS MUJERES SE MANIFIESTEN

This is also "our businesss". I mean, as women, we are suffering exactly the same (or more) like men. When they get out on demonstrations, most women stay at home eating their nails, waiting for them to come back. Some of them never come back, go to jail or to the tomb. But you don't see many women in demonstrations. The exceptions are rare, but exist, like the women of Banyas who were asking for their men to be returned home safely. Well, they even appeared in the state TV, conveniently changing their petitions, of course, but the point is that they got more attention because there are no many women attending protests. Yes, we have the glorious example of the actress May Skaff, detained because his "crime" is worse, being a public face she has no right at all to oppose to the regime.  Woman and a very known one!!!

So imagine just for one second that women begin to attend to friday prayers, go to the mosques with their men and children. You may think that they will be in danger, but it may be the revulsive that men need. Till now, male protesters are defeated by shabbiha, who break out all demonstrations from the beginning in places like Damascus or Aleppo. But what if these same men have their women with them, and see a shabbiha trying to put a finger on one of them? They would EAT the shabbiha without doubt, the courage would reappear, courage that they don't have after so many years of staying like sheep under the rule of the shepard, going right or left as he wishes, helped by his dogs.

Then, there would be no more fear, truly.

Let us, women, get out and demonstrate. I did it twice, I'm going to try it more and more.



Esto es también asunto nuestro. Quiero decir, como mujeres que somos, sufrimos exactamente igual (o más) que los hombres. Cuando ellos salen a manifestarse, la mayoría de las mujeres se quedan en casa mordiéndose las uñas esperando que ellos vuelvan. Algunos de ellos nunca vuelven, van a la cárcel o a la tumba. Pero no se ven demasiadas mujeres en las manifestaciones. Las excepciones son raras, pero existen, como la manifestación de mujeres de Banyas pidiendo que les devolvieran a sus hombres sanos y salvos. Incluso aparecieron en la televisión pública, cambiando convenientemente sus peticiones, eso sí, pero el punto es que recibieron más atención porque no hay muchas mujeres manifestándose. Sí, tenemos el ejemplo glorioso de la actriz May Skaff, detenida porque su "delito" es peor, siendo una cara pública no tiene el derecho a oponerse al régimen. ¡Mujer y encima muy conocida!

Así que imaginad por un segundo que las mujeres empiezan a asistir a las oraciones del viernes, van a las mezquitas con sus maridos e hijos. Puede parecer que estarán en peligro, pero ellas pueden ser el revulsivo que necesitan los hombres. Hasta ahora los manifestantes masculinos son derrotados por los shabbiha, que dispersan todas las manifestaciones desde el principio en lugares como Damasco y Alepo. Pero, ¿qué pasaría si esos mismos hombres tienen a sus mujeres con ellos y ven a un shabbiha poner un dedo encima de una de ellas? sin duda SE LO COMERÍAN, el valor volvería a reaparecer, ese valor que no han tenido después de tantos años de ser como ovejitas conducidas por un pastor, yendo a derecha e izquierda según sus deseos, ayudado por sus perros.

Entonces, verdaderamente, no habría más temor.

Que nosotras, las mujeres, salgamos a manifestarnos. Yo lo hice dos veces, voy a intentar hacerlo más y más.

NO hay seguridad desde el momento que el régimen está masacrando niños. Ayer fue Hamza al Khatib (mi pobrecito niño), mañana pueden ser vuestros hijos sólo porque estaban en el lugar equivocado en el peor momento.

So many troops movements to deal with people that only want freedom and democracy. Like hunting mosquitoes with bazookas...

No hay duda, estos pinos inclinados están en los alrededores de Homs, en la autopista entre Homs y Damasco, por si alguien tiene dudas sobre la autenticidad de los videos que aparecen en youtube. Tantos movimientos de tropas para enfrentarse a la gente que sólo quiere libertad y democracia. Es como cazar mosquitos con bazokas.
